Scan-X and Nuctech at Security Expo 2018

We’d like thank all the visitors to the Nuctech stand at this year’s international Security Expo event. Our stand showcased many products including the latest CT x-ray machines and trace detection equipment. We exist to serve our customers, so for us the most important thing was the chance to hear directly what priorities you have in security screening. We look forward to seeing you all next year!

Another Successful Rental for Scan-X Security

The Scan-X Security event team have completed another successful rental of security screening equipment. So far this year, we’ve deployed over 150 rental lanes of x-ray machines, metal detection arches and explosives and drugs detection equipment. Which makes Scan-X the UK’s market leader for the rental of security screening equipment.

There is no secret to our success. Just the basics of great equipment and hard working engineers. We combine leading products such as the Nuctech and Ceia brands and add top quality service to give great customer satisfaction.

Protecting the UK’s major events

As the photos show the Scan-X Security rental division have been especially busy protecting the UK this summer.

Our team have provided security screening equipment (x-ray machines, metal detection archways and related equipment) to several large sporting events such as tennis and golf. We have also supported a series of open air concerts in both Hyde Park and Victoria Park.

Scan-X have also provided similar security for the recent visit of one of the world’s most high profile political leaders in Turnberry, the annual Muslim conference and a major religious event held at the Excel Centre in London.

So far this year, we’ve deployed 65 x-ray machines, 156 archway metal detectors, 580 hand held wands and 12 trace detectors.

We can help with any event from 1 day VIP protection to longer duration events, with an extensive range of equipment and the ability to provide onsite support engineers if needed.

Threat Detection Training

Scan-X offer onsite threat detection training for clients currently using (or about to implement) security screening equipment – x-ray machines, metal detection archways and handhelds. Our DfT registered firearms and explosives instructor provides onsite training which is both engaging and informative. This training has been delivered to some of the most high profile venues in the UK.

The training has a very practical aspect with half of it conducted on a “real world” basis involving the use of live screening equipment. Highly realistic sample threat items are used as examples to test the ability of your staff to find threats. The other half of the course involves an interactive presentation which provides a good base of knowledge about current threats. To keep students on their toes and assess their abilities an examination is given upon completion. Typically all the above can be conducted during one working day with up to 7 people trained. Since the training is very bespoke, it can be tailored to your individual environment and longer courses can be provided if needed.

Contingency Planning

Scan-X can help your management team develop written contingency plans in the event that a threat (including suspicious parcels and letters) is found. A detailed action list will be created. Its equally important to understand any actions not to take when threats are found and this will be thoroughly covered also. All aspects are covered in depth: how to deal with the threat item itself, notify your staff and alert the relevant authorities, the best actions to take in terms of your building and environment and other good practices that you should be aware of.

The Security Screening Experts

A track record of providing physical security screening to the highest profile sites in the country lead to Scan-X being chosen to partner with a government agency. Our company has been selected to help provide evidence and statistics related to the freight screening process and provided a large x-ray system similar to the one shown to assist in this. This work will help the government understand the best processes and methods for finding weapons and threat items and thus to help prevent terrorism. Our experience in securing high profile sites was a significant reason for our selection. We are proud that our expertise and high quality equipment will help the processes that are designed to make our country a safer place to live and work.
