A Busy Year for the Scan-X Rental Team

2025 proved to be an exceptionally busy year for the Scan-X rental team. As well as our regular deployments at major music events in Hyde Park and Victoria Park, we supported the SW19 Championships and the annual golf tournament in Northern Ireland.

We were pleased to welcome back a long-standing customer, supplying equipment for the Royal Tattoo, which was a fantastic addition to our summer schedule. At the peak of the season, all 25 of our X-ray machines were deployed simultaneously, requiring us to bring in a further eight machines from our sister company in the Netherlands to meet demand.

Throughout the year, we also responded to several short-notice rental requests for television productions. Keep an eye out in 2026—you may spot our equipment in the background of some upcoming shows.

We closed out the rental year with two large-scale deployments, supporting the AMA and a major political party AGM.

In total, 394 items were rented during 2025, including large tunnel X-ray machines, hand-luggage X-ray machines, trace detection equipment, walk-through metal detection archways, and handheld metal detectors.

Strong Progress for Our Aviation Team

2025 was also a successful year for our Aviation team. We delivered a second C3 checkpoint lane for a well-known London airport, integrating both lanes and their associated security scanners into a single, unified management system.

In addition, we were awarded a contract to supply HBS machines for another southern UK airport and completed multiple installations of our highly popular CX180180DH cargo screening machine.

 

TR2000DC Trace Detector Certification

We are pleased to share that our TR2000DC trace detector achieved ECAC G1 certification in 2025.

This add-on will be supplied as standard on all new units purchased from 2026 onwards. Furthermore, all units deployed since 2019 can be upgraded to meet this new standard.

The use of 4 sensors which compare the level of background vibration to that in a vehicle allows the location of people hiding covertly through the vibration that is caused by a human heartbeat. This makes it impossible for anyone hiding to avoid detection. Scan-X can provide this technology by both sale and leasing options. We’ve built on a long track record with MicroSearch by providing 2 systems to correctional facilities in the UK. Operators of the system can be trained to use it quickly. Once sensors are attached results are normally available in a matter of seconds.
With the increase in human trafficking and refugee flows cause by an unstable world such technology is increasingly relevant to transport and cargo companies who are legally liable for clandestines entering the UK via their vehicles.
