Scan-X Security were selected to provide the physical security screening for a past president visiting Edinburgh. Our expertise in protecting high profile events and the quality of our equipment were key reasons behind the decision to use us to protect him and his guests at the May 2017 event. All visitors were protected by airport grade metal detectors and high quality x-ray machines. This equipment was provided by the Scan-X rental division who have the flexibility to support anything from a 1 day VIP event through to large scale sporting events over several weeks. We can provide just the equipment by itself or on site staff to manage it also, as required by our clients. If we can help you, just let our team know anytime.
Scan-X at Passenger Expo
Passenger Terminal Expo 2017 is the world’s main airport conference allowing leaders in the aviation sector the chance to share knowledge and network face to face. Scan-X has been an exclusive agent to Nuctech in Non-Aviation for some time, but were appointed the exclusive agent for all of the UK and have since sold several Dual View machines including 320KV CX180180DH units into airfreight. We have sold several TR2000DBA and Raman Liquid scanners.
Scan-X Security is now capable of supplying and servicing standard 3 security x-ray equipment (the latest standard for aviation providing 3 dimensional images using CT or computed tomography technology).
The Nuctech range of equipment is complemented by explosives and narcotics trace detection kit – capable of finding minute traces of either – and liquid inspection technology capable of rapidly analysing the liquid in bottles. This exciting development builds on our existing partnership with Ceia the world’s leading archway metal detection supplier enabling Scan-X to provide the full range of equipment that’s needed in the UK.
Scan-X Security would like to thank all our guests and visitors at the recent Passenger Terminal Conference in Amsterdam. This annual event is the premier event for aviation security professionals. Our prescence was timely as while we there we were announced as the sole supplier of Nuctech products to the United Kingdom.
This means the same Scan-X team that work with Nuctech on such prestigious clients as HM Prison service and the Home Office can expand on our existing range of products to offer body scanners, CT machines, cargo screening baggage x-ray machines and explosive and narcotics trace detection equipment. Our existing prescence at UK airports continues to grow and we look forward to seeing and protecting more people airside in the future.

Physical security leaders Scan-X Security have recently been selected to provide and support security screening equipment at one of the UK’s newest fixed based operators. With a business that provides support services to private fliers – many of whom are household names – security screening from a trusted vendor is paramount.
Scan-X were selected to provide dual view security x-ray machines to screen baggage. Required by recent legislation dual view x-ray imaging allows operators to see inside baggage from 2 angles. Enabling greater clarity and therefore security. Trace detection technology was also provided to screen for explosives and narcotics, and is capable of finding minute quantities of either.
Scan-X also installed archways from leading archway metal detection provider Ceia. Noted for their high quality and sensitivity, these are the brand of archways you would see in 90% of UK airports and Scan-X are working closely with Ceia.
A further reason for Scan-X’s selection in addition to the quality of the equipment was the quality of the support and speed of response offered by the Scan-X team. With more than 80% of Scan-X business consisting of repeat orders, particularly in the form of service contracts, our client can be confident that we will be here for them for the long term.
Scan-X continue to supply dual view x-ray machines to key sites in the country. Recent client wins include sites at key air hubs – Stanstead, London City and Heathrow. The nature of these sites means that the maximum uptime is required from security screening equipment. 2 factors are therefore key. Firstly the quality of the machines themselves is of course vital. Secondly the ability of the Scan-X team to support the equipment supplied with both pre-emptive and reactive maintenance. In both of these criteria Scan-X checked all of the boxes with flying colours leading to our selection.
In addition to x-ray machines Scan-X provided a number of TR2000 DB-A trace detectors, providing screening for a wide range of explosives and narcotics simultaneously in a highly convenient desktop form factor.
If you would like to see a demonstration of the above equipment – or know more about us in general – please call or email us any time.
Scan-X Security have been confirmed once again as the physical security screening supplier to two of the UK’s largest sporting tournaments. The high quality of the images provided by the x-ray machines and airport standard archways played a key role in our repeat selection for this year following successful delivery in 2016. A further factor in our selection being the experience and professionalism of the Scan-X engineering team which was an important consideration for these household name events.
In 2017 Scan-X will supply 52 x-ray machines and 25 archway metal detectors from our large inventory to these 2 high profile events.
Customer safety is the first thing on any organisers list when organising a big event. As well as manned security, metal detection archways and handheld wands are also high priority.
On the 8th of October 2016 the Echo Arena Liverpool held Radio 1Xtra’s huge live event including performing acts such as Craig David, Professor Green and Sean Paul. A high profile event which saw more than 10,000 people attend.Scan-X were able to draw on their extensive track record in event security, and advise the client on how best to balance security with the need for a high throughput of guests. The event required 14 metal detection archways and 50 handheld wands.
Scan-X pride themselves on speedy install and speedy take-down, their engineers use their experience from previous events such as major sporting events to ensure safety.

Visit Stand F35 to meet with Scan-X Security & Ensco as they launch the new Microsearch G4.0 System to the UK market.
This new system detects and deters clandestines and helps to enhance security. It is faster, quicker and more precise than visual inspections. This system tracks, analyses and retrieves to prove that the industry standards are met.
It detects heartbeats in vehicles. It is attached by two sensors to either end of the vehicles that detects the heartbeats. The system allows you to see which sensor is generating more activity making it easier to detect the person inside. It allows the operator to easily determine if the system is actively working in the situation and helps to identify locations where vibrations may be present and determine if wind or other vibrations are present.
It can provide real-time feedback on wind speed and direction. It can capture and image of the vehicle under the test which may include the license plate. It then allows those images to be added to database for future reference.
Whilst at the expo, why not visit another of our suppliers Nuctech.
We look forward to seeing you on Stand F35 at UK Security Expo!
