5 things you’ll want in your hand luggage

If you’re a frequent flyer, you’ll know what to take on a plane. You’ll have a list of essentials you can’t go a flight without. But for most of us, flying is a one-off. A holiday occasion. If you’re jumping on a plane for the long haul you’re going to want to take a few essentials with you.

And here they are:

Documents –The most important things you want with you are your flight documents; passport, boarding pass, accommodation confirmation etc. Having all these documents to hand is going to make your journey through the airport a whole lot easier. Don’t pack them at the bottom of your suitcase!

Food and drink – You aren’t going to be able to pack these before you go; you’ll have to wait until you’re through security check to purchase a bite to eat and drink. But there’s nothing worse than sitting on board a plane for a long time hungry and thirsty so make sure you pick them up.

Sleep – The best way to kill time onboard a flight is to drop off to sleep. But that isn’t easy when you’re crammed on with hundreds of other people. Throw some ear plugs, eye masks, and sleeping tablets in your hand luggage to help you cut all the noise out.

Clothing – Yes, you have plenty of clothing in your suitcase, but what if that’s left behind by the airline? You don’t want to be in a foreign country, far from home with nothing to wear. Plus, wearing a few layers onboard isn’t such a bad idea. You never know when it’s going to be too cold.

Entertainment – For those moments when you aren’t sleeping, you’re going to want something to pass the time with. So load up your hand luggage with entertainment items; your iPod, a book/e-reader, tablet, portable DVD player etc. And if you aren’t so tech savvy, a deck of cards will do. The person next to you is going to be bored too remember?

So there you go. 5 essentials for your hand luggage the next time you fly.
